GARDEN CLUB
The Rappahannock Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. L. J. Kilby on Wednesday, November 19, at 2 p.m. with 13 members present Mrs. W. C. Hall gave a lecture on birds and bird feeding stations. Mrs. Turner announced that Mrs. L. J. Kilby had been given a life membership in the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, since she worked so faithfully towards getting our Garden Club organized. The Exhibit: In the arrangements, the first prize was awarded to Mrs. L. J. Turner, second to Mrs. L. J. Kilby and third to Mrs. E. M Jones.
Horticulture: Mrs. L. J. Turner won first, and Mrs. J. W. McClaskey won second.
BRIDGE PARTY
Mrs. Frankey S- Menefee was hostess to the bridge club with additional guests on Thursday night at dessert bridge at her home. Those playing were Mrs. Holmes Hall, Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, Miss Louise O’Bannon, Mrs. John P. Snead, Mrs. I.R. Kilby, Mrs. R. E. Thompson, Mrs. T. J. Pillar, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance Jr., Mrs. D. Lyle Miller, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. John Davis, Mrs- R. E. Wood, Mrs. P. Lee Thornton, .Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. George L. Taylor, Mrs. H. C. Warwick, Mrs- C. E. Johnson Jr., and Mrs. G H. H. Branch. Mrs. Lutie Quaintance was also a guest. High score for the guests was presented to Mrs. Lyle Miller, Mrs. Sealock won the high score prize for the club members, Mrs. C. E. Johnson won the traveling prize
