Birth Announcement

Mr- and Mrs. Calvin Walters of laurel, Maryland have announced the birth of a daughter, Darlene Frances, born November 17 at Shelby Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Mrs. Walters is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jenkins in F. T. Valle*. _ . '•_

Firemen Hold Meeting

The Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Department held a meeting over the Fire House, Tuesday night with twenty members present and Fire Chief Merrill presided. Highlights of the meeting were: To elect officers at the January meeting; It was suggested by C- E. Giles that the company get some one from an adjoining county to give a talk on the duties of the officers; It was decided that the fire truck be brought, everytime down Gay and Porter Street and Mr. Watts or someone whom ,he will degisnate will be on the corner to give the “Go Sign.”

AUXILJARY MEETING

The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Emmanuel Church was hfcld on Wednesday night in the home of Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer with the president, Mrs. W. R. Williamson, presiding. Mrs. Z. H. Sealock led the devotional. During the business session several matters of importance were discussed but no action was taken. The main feature of the social hour, which followed was the celebration of the birthday anniversary of two members, Mrs. Sealock and Mrs Pillar. The group sang “Happy Birthday To You” for the honorees, then cake with hot chocolate was served to the guests. There were eight members and two visitors present.
