Flint Hill Bank

Reports Successful Year

At the stockholders’ meeting of The First National Bank of Flint Hill, Tuesday, January 13, 188 shares of stock were represented in person or by proxy. A report of the operations for last year showed satisfactory growth in deposits, and resources. The surplus was increased, and a three per cent dividend paid to the stockholders.

The following were re-elected directors for the year 1953: John S. Browning, Frank, H. Cary, Herbert Foster, William W. Miller, John R. Moore, Jr., G. W. Smith* Jr., and R. J. Turner.

After the stockholders’ meeting adjourned, the directors met and organized, electing the following officers: Frank H. Cary, president; William W. Miller, vice-president; John S. Browning, cashier; Gaynell P. Russell, assistant cashier; Edna X Moore, assistant cashier.

WS.C.S. GIVES SHOWER

The Woman’s Society of Christian Service gave a shower for Mrs. F. D. Coffey Jr. on Monday evening at her home with about fifteen ladies of the Methodist church present Many useful and attractive gifts were presented to the home and after a display of them, refreshments were served.

W. M. S. MEETING The Woman’s Missionary Society of Reynolds Memorial Baptist church will meet Saturday, January 17, with Mrs. James Atkins at 2:30 p.m. AH members are requested to be present
