Town Council Sets April 20

The Togra Council met on Tuesday evening March 10, with Mayor Davis, presiding.
Mr. CoMiton* state highway engineer, was present to discuss plans by which the state ami town will be able to work together on town pro^ jects.
The week of April 20 was decided by the council as “c lean up week” for the town. The council states that it would appreciate the citizens’ cooperation as they have done in the past to make the town of Washington put on “That New Look."

At a meeting of representatives of Jflgd mral organizations, professional agricultural workers, and representatives of the power companies in the Court House a few weeks ago it was decided that a definite county-wide program be undertaken to increase the number of homes and farms with satisfactory water systems.
Reasons for selecting this program are: (1) Rappahannock has fewer pressure water systems than any other county in Northern Virginia even though her farms are well supplied with electric power or, in some cases, could have satisfactory gravity systems and (2) because a satisfactory system pays because it: saves labor, increases production, provides convenience, and improves health conditions.
