Evangelistic Mission Begins

Sunday

After much publicity through 9 Southeastern states and Cuba, the United Evangelistic Mission services will begin this Sunday throughout the Southeastern Jurisdiction! of the Methodist church. Washington and Amissville have been selected as the host communities in this county, with services being conducted alternately in the Washington Baptist and Methodist churches. In the eastern end of the county, services will he held at die Amissville Methodist church. Washington services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Baptist church, 8 p.m. at the Methodist i church, and at 8 p.m. Monday throqgh Friday. Amissville services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. : Sunday through Friday.

The Rev. W. A. Kerr will be the Guest Pastor for the United Evangelistic Mission services at Washington. Rev/ Kerr is the Methodist pastor of the Todd Charge, the Methodist church and resides in Boone, N. C. He has had training at Rutherford College, Guilford College, Duke University and Emory University.

The Rev. W: B. Thompson of the Bostic Charge, the Methodist church, Bostic, N.C., will be the Guest pastor for the United Evangelistic Mission services at Amissville. Rev. Thompson has had a strong pastorate and is also a forceful speaker. A Youth Parade will leave Sperryville Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and will tour the county. Besides the motorcade the parade will include floats depicting the value of religion. - Saturday evening, a youth caravan will go to Charlottesville to attend the District Youth Rally at First Methodist church at 7:30 p.m. Rev Joseph Edwards from Nashville, Tenn., will bring the message. In addition to the preaching, a visitation evangelism, program will be conducted and many homes will be visited.
