BRIDAL SHOWER Misses Mary and Ann Slaughter of Front Royal entertained at a shower on Friday evening, April 10, in honor of Miss Hilda Nethers, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Dennis ojf Flint Hill.
Miss Nethers, whose engagement to W. C. Dennis was announced recently, is the daughter of Mr. and Mirs. Robert Nethers of Flint Hill and will be one of the county’s spring brides.
Those present were Mrs. Charles Wood, Mrs. J. G. Russell Sr., Mrs. Carson Lillard, Mrs. Thelma Lillard, Misses Elsie and Margaret Dodson, Mrs. J. H. Tobin, Miss Nancy Tobin, Miss Minnie Williams, Misses Mary Ann and Sue Slaugher, Mrs. Robert Nethers, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Jr., Mrs. Thelma Russell, Miss Hilda Nethers, Mrs. Frances Gilbert, Mrs. Emory Russell, Mrs. Lewis Moore, Mrs. Etta Luttrell, Mrs. G. H. Dennis and Mrs. Frank Cary.
BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Robert L. Massie entertained the Washington Bridge Dub with additional guests on Thursday. Those playing were Mrs. George H. Davis, Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. Wade H. Massie Jr., Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Elizabeth H. DeBergh, Mrs. D. D. Miller. Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Mrs. J. S. Browning, Mrs. Earl Edmonds, Mrs. Lock Burford, Mrs, J. W. Price and Mrs. R. V. Snead. After • the game prizes were awarded to Mrs. D. D. Miller for high score, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, traveling; and Mrs. Snead, consolation. A salad course was served by the hostess.
