Han September Carnival
AmissvHle firefighters are making plans for their second annual festival and carnival Friday and Saturday nights, September 18 and 19. -
The second and fourth Thursdays of this month and August were voted to be designated as work nights for the membership, during the regular monthly meeting last week.
The department is planning to btrildl its own stands for concessions, food, drinks,. games and other activities for th» two gala nights. All rides, the merry-go-round, and the grand prize of a brand new 1953 Ford Tudor sedan have already been arranged by the membership. The following committees were appointed to work on carnival needs: merchandise and prize committee— Thomas Tear, chairman, A. J. Bailey, Graham Hackley and Edward Tapp; electrical committee—Carl Padgett, chairman, A. C. Latham and Frank Zinn; concession stands committee—Charles Compton, chairman, Lloyd Bywaters, Col. J. N. Caperton, Floyd Hitt, Braxton James, Elmer Jenkins, W. A. Laing Jr., Charles Priest, Leedy Pullen, Manuel Pullen, Everett Smith, Paul Smith and Wallace Stover.
