Liberal Tradition
(From The Providence Journal
McLean, Va.)
Since we have made our selection in - the race for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Virginia, between State Senator Charles Fenwick, of Arlington, and former Congressman Thomas Stanley, of Henry County, we wish to state what that selection is, and why we made it.
There are many good things which can be said for Mr. Fenwick, whom we have known and liked personally for almost a quarter of a century. He is our neighbor. He is unbelievely energetic when pressing toward his goal—which, in this instance, is the governorship of his state. He is a courteous and friendly man. And, we understand, he is capable.
Nevertheless, we shall support Mr. Stanley.
