HONORED AT PJCNIC- V ~

On Saturday, July 4, Mrs. W. M. Fletcher entertained at a picnic in honor of Frances Fletcher Smith. Among the guests who went to Schuler’s were two house guests, Peggy Bell Dunton and Suzanne Manges, Frances Smith, Evelyn Tyler Miller, Carolyn Gates Turner, Louanne Miller, Neville Wood, Mary Norman Davis, Ramona and Rosemary Wire, Betty Johnson, Dudley Wood, Jim Yates Jr., Galley Smith Jr., George Davis III, John Turner, Newbill Miller, Carlyle Lea, Sid Thompson, Hill Walker, Tommy and Jimmy Wayland.

ENTERTAINS AT DANCE On Friday evening, Miss Mary Norman Davis entertained numerous friends at a dance in the pavilion on Lake Manohoac. From 7:30 to 10:30, the boys and girls danced to ltght melodies as the moon cast over the water reflections of happy faces.

ONE YEAR OLD Mr. and Mrs. George Wood entertained at a picnic supper Wednesday evening, July 1 at their home, “Ivy Hill’’ celebrating Gail Ellen Updike’s first birthday. Among the guests who enjoyed the birthday cake and ice cream were Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Updike and Myrla Ann and Bubby Updike, Robert Nethers of Washington, D. C. C. Henry Nethers, H.Mc. U. S. Navy and J. Robert Nethers.

ENTERTAINS TOTS Mrs. J. Rodes Brown Jr. entertained a small group of tots on Sunday afternoon in celebration of her small daughter’s second birthday. Those present were Terry Kilby, “Stevie” Aylor, Jeff Weddle, Jack Mason Weaver and Ann Rodes Thompson. Refreshments were lemonade, ice cream and cake.

COLD PLATE SUPPER The Susan Wood Missionary Circle will have a cold plate supper Friday, July 10 at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist church from 6 to 8 p.m. The price of each plate is $1. Give your old lady a rest or if the shoe’s “otherwise the def enseless husband a reprieve from the wife’s concoctions. Take the family and attend the supper. It’ll be a treat for you and a boost to the church.
