Funeral Services For John R. Jenkins Held Wednesday.
Funeral services for John Robert Jenkins, who died early Monday morning, were held from the Etlan Methodist Church, Wednesday evening, September 22. The Rev. Warren Corbin and E. E. Henley officiated at the burial services.
A native of Rappahannock, Mr. Jenkins lived as a farmer at Nethers Mill for many of his 70 some years. He was sick for some time prior to his death.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yenie Jenkins of Nethers Mill and a son,Hugh, of Luray.

Four unearned runs gave Mt. Jackson a 4-0 shutout over the Rappahannock Chiefs Sunday afternoon and the first wm in a 3-game series in the League Playoffs.
The losing hurler, Milton Hawkins, pitched a good game, holding Mt. Jackson to less than 5 hits Right up to the ninth inning the Chiefs gained scoring bases, but seemed unable to advance further and score.
Mt. Jackson made her first run in the seventh on a walk, 2 errors and a single by Bausman.
The Chiefs held the Athletic Club in the eighth but in the final frame, Mt. Jackson gained 3 runs on 2 singles and 3 errors, leaving the score at the final 4-0. Neff was winning pitcher, going all the way,for Mt. Jackson. Hawkins who suffered a hand injury when struck by a ball earlier in the game was relieved by Jackie Sisk in the ninth. ' While the Rappahannock Chiefs, who stood second in the final / League Standing, were being defeated by the fourth place, Mt. Jackson A. C., the Number One team, Oak Grove was bowing to the Number Three team, Middletown.
