There will be no school in Rappahannock County on Friday, September 23 as teachers will hold a work day in their respective schools.
On October 1, the majority of the teachers will attend District Meeting in Berryville. A few, however, will meet at Warren Co. High School with text publishers to assist in the selection of new texts. —In the Elementary Department, Mrs. Frank Cooke, Mrs. Juliette Johnson, Mrs. Morgan Johnston, Mrs. B. R. Cox, and Mrs. George Taylor will review English texts. Mrs. Matilda Walker, Mrs. Una Hahn, Miss Garland Riley, and Mrs. Anne Keyser will review history and geography texts.
In the High School Department Mrs. H. B. Winfrey will assist with the selection of English books, Robert Level with social studies and Mrs. David Corbin with Latin texts.
On September, 24, the Future Farmers of America and the Future Homemakers of America Chapters of RCHS, accompanied by Miss Nora Dillon and R. C. Leonard, will attend the Frederick County Fair in Winchester.
An F. F. A. judging team composed of Robert Thornhill, Donald Liscomb, Dickie Atkins, Bill Leake and Gordon Graves will compete with teams from six other counties in the Northern Federation in judging contests. They will judge eggs, poultry, apples and corn.
