The Constitutional Amendment to permit the county school boards to borrow money from the state retirement fund for school purposes was soundly defeated in the general election in Rappahannock last week, by a 273-198 vote.
Four districts, Wakefield, Jackson, Hampton and Hawthorne, opposed the bills while Stonewall and Piedmont approved it. The voting by district ran as.follows: (The total votes cast in the district is given that you might notice how many voters failed to take a stand on the issue).
