Maj. Angus Hopkins
Funeral rites for Major Angus Hopkins, Jr., who lost his life September 26 when the ferry Tara Maru capsized in the Typhoon Maria, off the coast of Japan, were held on Sunday afternoon from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Jerome.
Rev.* John S. Manrodt, Rev. Franklin G. Senger, II, and Rev.» Robert Barr Logan conducted the services in the church. The graveside committal services with Military Honors were conducted by officials of Bolling Field Air Force Base, in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.
The large church was filled with relatives and friends, many from a distance.
Major Hopkins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Miller Hopkins of Mt. Jackson; three children, Hugh Harrison, aged 7, and twin daughters, Penelope Eliza_beth and Jennifer Elaine, aged 2; his mother, Mrs. Janet MacAlister Hopkins; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lee, both of New York.
Mrs. Hopkins is a sister of Mrs. Frank Cary of Flint Hill.
