Farm Bureau Unii
Organized In County
About 60 farmers and their wives met together at a njpper meeting at the Cab Inn Restaurant near Sperryville, Friday evening; to consider organizing a county Farm Bureau unit in Rappahannock County. The decision to organize and offiliate with the (Virginia Farm Bureau Federation! waa unanimous. A membership drive is now underway in the county, for charter members with a goal of 100 members. 1 .
Hugh Dailey, Northern Virginia Field Representative for] the Farm Bureau, explained the purpose of the meeting and introduced M. A. Hubbard, Executive Secretary for the Virginia Farm Butcau Federation, who spoke on the] accomplishments and objectives] of the organization on national, state, and county levels.
E. M. Jones of Washington was elected temporary chairman of I the group and D. D. Miller was elected temporary Secretary-Treasurer.
The drive for charter members will be concluded at a meeting at the Court House in Washington, Tuesday night, March 29th ajt 8 o’clock.
