Fire Friday Morning
Culpeper Fanners Cooperative building on Wausau Place in Culpeper was destroyed by fire early Friday morning. j
An employee discovered the lire when he reported for work about 7 ajn. Fire companies form Culpeper, Orange and Brandy finally got the fire under control about 11 a.m. but remained throughout the day until it was extinguish^! completely. \
Most of the stock was destroyed and damages were estimated at $500,000, however, most of the records from the bookkeeping det partment were saved. On Saturdays under the management of Mr.; John Hill, the Coop, was again in business in the KIAMI Building across fro mthe Southern Railway i Office. Mr. Hill requests thafc ; customers in the vicinities of Warrenton and Remington use these branch stores and residents of Rappahanock patronize the Sperryville store until a larger more complete stock is obtained.
