Two Auto Wrecks
Cause Minor Injury
Saturday, May 2 at approximately 11p.m. on Route 522, two and ore-half miles north of Flint Hill, two cars, a 1956 Chevrolet owned and operated by Charles Edward Johnson, III of Sperryville and a 1949 Ford owned and operated by Leroy Ashby Jenkins of <Etlan side swiped each other and ran off the right hand shoulder of the road. Jenkins received multiple fracture of the left arm.-, He was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital. Johnson was not hurt. Investigating officer Troopef William Buntin charged Johnson with reckless driving. Damage to both cars was estimated at 400 to 500 dollars.
Tuesday, April 5 at 3:45 p.m. on Route 211 at Jett Street in Washington, Va. a wreck occurei involving three cars, a 1959 Chevrolet driven by Peter E. Baldwin of Howell, Michigan and owned by his father, Duane Baldwin; a 1949 Plymouth Sedan operated by William Miller Biggs and owned by Jdseph Biggs of Front Royal and a 1957 Buick owned by Mrs, R. L.' Cheatham of Washington, Va. , Biggs car failed to stop for % stop sign on Jett Street and ran into the left side of the Baldwin car, knocking it into the Cheatham car which Was parked on the ^reet nr front of the old post office building., No serious injuries resulted.
Damage to the three Cars was {estimated at $1500. Biggs wan charged with reckless driving. Mr, and Mrs. Baldwin, who had recently been married were on thei* way home from their honeymoon.
