Harvest in die west has not been favored by good weather and a„ large portion of that which has been harvested has a higher moisture content than last year’s. 'In Virginia, most of the commercial com has been harvested.
The latest estimate on thte nations crop is 4,102,000,000 bushels which is 16 per cent over last year and 35 per cent above average.
In Richmond last week corn was bringing $1.15 a bushel; Norfolk, $1.05 to $1.15; Piedmont area $1.15, Shenandoah Valley, $1.30 to $1.34; Northern Neck $1.08 and Chicago $1.13 a bushel.
