Cpl. Frank J. Atkins, whose wife, Alice, lives at 807 S. Second St., Lawton, Okla. recently graduated from the Seventh Army NonCommissioned Officer Academy in Bad Tolz, Germany.
Cpl. Atkins received four weeks of refresher training in map reading, combat tactics and leadership.
Atkins, regularly assigned to a squad leader in Company E of the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment’s 2nd Battalion in Bad Kissingen, entered the Army in September 1949 and arrived overseas on this tour of duty last March.
The 27 year old soldier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Atkins, Sperryville, Va., attended Sperryville High School.
