Excellent Horses
The Rappahannock Races drew the cream of the crop of jumping horses from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, with most of the horses so crossesntered, no one knew until post time where the horses would run.
Logistics, big Point-to-Point winner in i960, is starting the 1961 season by winning the Mount Marshall race at the Rappahannock Point-to-Point Races March: 4 at Thornton Hill, Sperryville.
Logistics, is owned by William! Schlusemeyer of Warren ton and was ridden by Gerald Saunier. He led the field and was followed by William Howland’s Bluff Point with Paul Fout riding.
In the Ben Venue race Mr.: Saunier took a tumble when his own horse stumbled over a jump. Volanee Boy, owned and ridden by Richard B. Spindle captured the trophy given by the Seven Corner’s Shopping Center, taking a step to-; ward the grand trophy they will offer at the close of the season to: the horse with the most winning points.
