Animal tales—Have heard of bats in your belfrey but never birds in your sweater. A certain local lawyer, at the request of his wife, went to the clothes line after dark to bring in some laundered sweaters. As he approached the line a bird;flew up in front of him and when he took one garment from the line he found the bird’s mate nestled snuggly in the sweater sleeve.

'll!! This one smells—Latest visitor at Trinity Church, causing much excitement at Sunday School among the young and the old alike (you guessed it) is a pole cat trapped in ja basement window well. Youngsters have fed it cookies; someone put a tree limb down the well for the kitty to climb up, (that didn’t work); one boy wants it for a pet. Think they have resorted to arsenic, so as not to get things stirred up. I don’t go around with my nose up in the air, but I think arsenic is a good idea.-*

Have put my name in the pot for a weekend job at the ski club dispensing coffee or tying up broken legs. I fully anticipate trying it once (I mean skiing) even if I have to use barrel staves held on with jar rubbers, and bean poles for support like we used to do when I was a kid.
