Resigns From
State Folice Force
John L. Lowman of Washington, Va. will resign from the State Police Force on January 19. Mr. Lowman has been on the Force for over nine years and has been an officer in Rappahannock eight years, oomrang here in October of 1953.
He has accepted a position with the Nationwide Insurance Company as an adjustor and will be located in the Alexandria area, working from the office at Bailey’s Cross Roads.
Mr. and Mrs. Lowman and their four daughters will, a little later, move to that area.
Snow Light — Area
Schools Closed
Snow and more snow was pre-‘ dieted for Wednesday and in the early morning it arrived. Schools in Rappahannock and surrounding areas were closed. However, only a couple of inches of snow fell and before noon the sun was beaming.
Most youngsters used their unexpected vacation for sledding, that is those who were not already at home with chicken pox or measles.
Most of the snows have come from the south and areas around us have had much more than Rappahannock.
