Charlie Boot Jenkins appeared before the Board in regard to the pruning of trees on front of courthouse lawn and was contracted to prune them at a cost not to exceed $150.
Mr. Hickerson of Wakefield District requested that the dangerous intersection of Rtes. 522 and 632 north of Willis Chapel be improved. The Board turned the request over to Mr. David Butler. Resident Highway Engineer.
Ray T. Cannon and James Hoyle with their attorney Thomas W. diZerega appeared in reference to proposed CannonHoyle division of land in Jackson District but no action was taken since the Commonwealth’s Attorney was absent due to illness.
Washington PTA Meets
Wednesday, Feb. 20th
The P.T.A. of Washington Elementary School will meet Wednesday, February 20, at the school at 7:30 p.m. A film on “Fall Out” will be shown.
The Sperryville P.-T.A. members and anyone interested are extended a cordial invitation. Refreshments will be served.
Shower Given The Burkes
A number of friends and neighbors gathered at the Pillbox, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke cn Gay Street, Friday afternoon to honor them with a surprise m i s c e 1laneous shower and house warming and to welcome them to their new neighborhood. They received many lovely and useful gifts and a pleasant hour was enjoyed by all present.

The Rt. Rev. Samuel B. Chilton, Suffragan Bishop of Virginia, was presept at the 11 o’clock service of Trinity Epispal Church in Washington on Sunday, February 10, for his annual visit and confirmation. Those being confirmed were John Prentiss Greenaway, Jean Carter Moffett, Charles Stewart Palmer, Charles T. Bruce and Mrs. Elmo D. Flynt.
