town water, and in case of fire and the water was not sufficient, the county would have to pay for new buildings, if destroyed.
It was also pointed out that the town this year had bought
a new dump and on occasions j county people had been known . to use it.
It was seemingly unanimous among the Supervisors present 1
that it would cause so much j dissatisfaction that they might I have to withdraw the county tax and raise other taxes. When asked for an alternative, they agreed to meet and try to work out something with the ; Council.
For lack of a quorum the council will meet in special ses- 1
sion to vote on the issue on j Friday, February 22, at the usual hour. Any interested persons are invited to meet with them.

JAMES MINOR SETTLE WHEREAS, James Minor Settle has served as Clerk of Rappahannock County Circuit Court and as Clerk of Rappahannock County f. .*■ period of more than 40 years, and;
WHEREAS, Jimmie (as he is affectionately known by his host of friends) w$s one of the most loved, most respected, and most popular office holder* in the County, and;
WHEREAS, James Minor Settle has been forced to resign his office because of illness;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to Jimmie Settle, a copy be published in the Rappahannock News and a copy be entered in the Minute Book of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock.
