Receiving a tremen. dous boost from the liberal antler less season effective in most eastern counties Vic. ginia nimrods hung 38,701 ; whitetails from dressing i poles around the state. This increase of 2,585 was realized in spite of a sharp decline west of the Blue Ridge. While many conservation minded sportsmen have expressed concern that we are over harvesting our deer herds, game technicians think otherwise. They point to the fact that in 30 eastern counties that enjoyed either sex seasons in 1961-62 as well as 1962-63 the kill held up will dropping only 107 from 10,767, to 10,660. A variation of 107 either way is not considered significant. We have confidence in our game managers and will string along with them. If they feel we are on a sound ♦
