Area Fruit School
Will Be Held Feb. 26
The Area Fruit School will be held at the Court House in Washington, Virginia, next Tuesday, February 26,1963. Those appearing on the pro, gram from V. P. I. are H. A. Rollins, Jr., W. P. Judkins F. R. Dreiling, and G. E. Mattus. These fruit experts will dis cuss the fruit industry of the future, the role of V. P. I., intensified training of yound apple trees, refinements in apple nutrition, and maintaining the quality we produce.
From the V. P. L fruit research laboratory in Winchester will come G. R. Williams, C. H. Hill, and A. B. Groves to present information on size controlling apple root stocks, mite control for 1963, and apple scab and fire blight. C. Purcell McGue, Jr. of the Virginia Apple Commission will discuss apple promotion and profits. The meeting will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m. and end around 3:30 p.m.
