In addition a National Forest stamp is needed for the national forests, but most sportsmen already have these if they hunt or fish this territory. The same i6 true of state forests. The trapper must attach his name and address to all traps and must visit each one daily. This trap tending routine eliminates the sport for many outdoorsman, but there are many others whose work schedule and place of abode permit the running of a modest trapline. And the health benefits derived from the daily exercise will far surpass those gained from a headline stealing 50 mile hike. Successful fur trapping requires an understanding of wildlife habits far beyond normally acquired by many successful hunters and the sportsman who can work this activity into his schedule will be more experienced outdoorsman.
