The Fredericksburg State Graded Slaughter Cattle Sale has certainly grown and seemingly doing well. Three hundred and thiity head
330 head sold at the January 24 sale. Top price for choice steers was $27.75 CWT with an avearge of around $26.83.
Top price received for good grade slaughter steers was $26.30 with an approximate average of $25.45. These prices were comparable to those paid at Chicago on the same day and were from 50c to $1.00 above weekly average auction prices.
