Shorthorn Bull Sale Set for March 7th
All eyes of the North American Shorthorn industry will be focused on Winchester, on March 7th, the date of the fourth annual Atlantic Shorthorn All - Bull Sale. This event, the East’s largest Shorthorn bull auction and one of the nation’s top events will draw nearly 60 bulls from six states, Ontario and Quebec. While top sire prospects will be offered for purebred herds, this sale was established cheiflyfor the distribution of better Shorthorn and Polled Shorthorn bulls among commercial herds. This year's offering is in keeping with that original intent. All bulls will be graded for quality and soundness the morning of the sale by members of the Virginia Division of Markets, V. P. I. To assure buyers accurate weight for-age statistics, bulls will also be weighed preceding the sale. The sale is being sponsored by the Virginia Shorthorn Ass’n. J. C. Eller, Culpeper, is president; Harvey Wilson, Lewisburg, W. Va., is vice president and W. J. Davis, The Plains, secretary-treasurer. Davis and Wm. Davidson, Marshall, are members of the sale committee, assisted by Stan Haworth, Warrenton.
The sale will start at 12:00 noon at the Farmers Livestock Exchange Pavilion, Winchester.
