Mrs. George Wood Stout
Mrs. George Wood Stout, 88, widow of William Cary Stout, of Stevensburg, died February 21, 1963, at the home of Miss Irene Keyser, Washington, Va., where she had been living since July. I Mrs. Stout, better known as “Miss Georgie” was born in j Rappahannock County, ! daughter of George Wood and Martha Grimsley Wood. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Adams of Alexandria, and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted i n Stevensburg, Saturday, February 23, at 3;30 p.m. at the Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Holloway and the Rev. Clyde Melton officiating.
Bearers were Willis Elvin Rinker, Edwin Norman, J. S. Board, William Walker and Wert Hurt. Clore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Peter Darr Dennis
Mrs. Myrtle Tobin Dennis, 69, of Flint Hill died Friday, February 22, 1963, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dennis was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of Kimuel G. Tobin and Nora Edna Kidwell Tobin and wife of the late Peter Darr Dennis. She is survived by two sons, Gilbert H. Dennis, Amissville and William C. Dennis of Jackson, South Carolina; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma D. Russell of i Flint Hill and Mrs. Stella D. Johnson of Front Royal; a step-son, Cooper N. Dennis of Church Hill, Tennessee; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, John H. Tobin of Bentonville, Robert K. Tobin of Covington, Gilbert J. Tobin of Alexandria and James Watson Tobin of Front Royal; four sisters, Mrs. Goldie T. Slaughter, Mrs. Esther May Wood and Mrs. Gertrude T. George of Front Royal, and Mrs. Margaret T. Holzier of Falls Church.
