Saturday afternoon, August 17th at 2 p.m. fire fighting contests will be held on the carnival grounds. Companies from Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock have been Invited to participate In this activity which will Include a dressing contest and competition In extinguishing pit and target fires, according to Braxton James, Chief of the Amissville Department.
Awarding of the grand prize a 1963 Valiant, will take place Saturday night along with many other prizes. Good food is available each evening, including hamburgers, hot dogs, cold drinks and coffee, cake and pie, beside the plate supper Thursday. The Ladies Auxiliary requests those who will make donations of food for the box suppers to call We 7-2593 or We 7-3615. Those who will contribute cake or pie call We 7-2236.
