The Rev. and Mrs. James B. Grimmer were Friday over-night guests of relatives in Portsmouth. Guests following the parade Thursday in Flint Hill of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Smith were Thomas Embrey, father of Miss Shenandoah, Miss Jane Ashley Embrey and Mrs. James L. Shumaker of Vienna. Friday guests were the Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Jester of Afton and Sunday guests included Mrs. James L. Shumaker, Miss Crystal Shumaker and Kenneth Desmond of Gainesville. Guests during the Carnival and through the week-end of Capt. and Mrs. J. P. Cook included the Rev. and Mrs. M. C. Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Morrison and sons, Dev. and Bill of Berryville, Mrs. W. B. Cooke and several young people from Newport News and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Soper and daughters, Ethelwin, Patricia and Judith of Silver Spring. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Walker and three children of Falls Church who have been guests for the past two weeks left Monday for a week’s visit with Bob Cook at Seashore National Park at Cape Cod.
