A graveside tunerai service was held Saturday, October 26, at the Moore family cemetery near Flint Hill, the Rev. Henry M. Matthews conducting the last rites. Pallbearers were John R. Moore, Louis Moore, Buddy Moore, Louis Moore, Jr., Bobby Moore and Lide Dearing* Geese Funeral Parlors handled arrangements.
Mrs. Mattie G. Hopkins
A funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Gore Hopkins, 80, who died Sunday, October 20, 1963 was held from the chapel of the Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah with interment in the E.U.B. Cemetery. A former pastor the Rev. Nathan Fox officiated. Mrs. Hopkins, the widow of Omer Hopkins, was born in Sperryville, daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.John Thomas Gore. She had resided with her son-in-law and daughter Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Waff of Shenandoah, in whose home she died, for the past twentyseven years. Besides her daughter she is survived by a son, J.Franklin Hopkins of Amherst; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. B. C. Shuler of Shenandoah. Also surviving are four nieces, Mrs. J. W. Campbell of Luray, Mrs. Field Benton of Ocracoke, N. C., Mrs. Charles H. Estes of Sperryville and Mrs. B. M.Miller of Washington.
