For the office of Sheriff in Rappahannock, incumbent, Charles K. (Pete) Estes of Sperryville is opposed by Lester W, Deal, also of Sperryville. Mr. Estes has served in this office since his appointment Januray 16, 1962, upon the retirement of J.W. Critzer. At this time a rigid examination was given all applicants for the position and Mr. Estes was appointed by Judge R. V. Snead after making an outstanding score on the test.
