A steady and gradual upward trend in veal prices is expected on into the first of the year. This is the seasonal pattern for this time of year. The market for veal should lead all other red meats. No reason is seen for selling light. In fact, bringing market weight up as close to 220 pounds as possible, without being docked, should be considered.
Average prices last week in Virginia were:-choice and prime $31.60, good $28.60 and standard $25.35.
