The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Trinity Parish Hall,' Washington, Va., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, November 15th. Ample parking is available at the new parking lot to the rear of the church. The Chapter is appealing to all who have received blood for themselves or a member of their family, and to people who have never given blood, as well as to the regular donors of the Chapter, to donate blood on November 15th. The quota is 1136 pints. This is based upon the population of Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. It is estimated that about one fifth of the population is in Rappahannock and four fifths in Fauquier. It is hoped that the people of Rappahannock will donate one pint of blood for each four pints donated by the donors In Fauquier, - we are confident that the people in each County want to do their share.
If our area continues to fail to meet its quota the Red Cross Blood Bank will be withdrawn and it will cost our citizens about $5,000 to buy blood from commercial Blood Banks to meet their needs.
There are many who cannot afford to buy it in prolonged treatment of illnesses such as heart attacks, kidneys, liver.
