Almost as soon as the doors opened to the newly dedicated County Library at Washington the Trustees announced a most unusual research program. Under the auspices of this new Library, work will begin at once to collect every fragment of historical data on people, places, and things within the confines of Rappahannock.
Since there is no complete and comprehensive history of the County, the Trustees feel that the Library i6 idealy situated to begin the collection and cataloging of all information available on the area before and after the foundation of the County in 1833. A search will start at once for old documents, letters, deeds, bills, notices, newspaper articles, and any written material referring to life in Rappahannock prior to 1860.
