Any farm worker is covered by the social security law if you pay him $150 or more in cash wages during the calendar year for farm work or if he does farm work for you on 20 or more days in a year for cashpay figured on a time basis. If you have any farm worker who meet either of these two tests, there are certain things you as the employer must do. You must keep a record of each farm worker who meets, or is expected to meet, the $150 test or the 20 day test. The record should show his name, his social security account number, and how much much wages you paid him.
