Despite tne tact outdoor recreation is booming and federal and state recreation areas are often overflowing, it takes more for recreation enterprises than a few acres of land. It takes careful planning, money and perhaps more than anything, a desire to be with people and to satisfy these people. Crops of beans, corn and milk won't talk back-, but recreationists will if things aren’t running right. Fortunately, farmers interested in developing recreation areas can now receive cons id erable help in their planning from professional agricultural workers such as those trained at the symposium. They can often borrow money for their enterprise from the Farmers Home Administration on a long term, low rate loan. But after that it depends on how well they operate their recreation project as to whether or not they find success.
