Gourdvine Church
Revival Services
The Gourdvine Baptist Church, located on Route 729 eleven miles east of Culpepe^ has scheduled revival services in the week of August 15 through 20. The services begin on Sunday, August 15, with the 11:00 a.m. worship and continue each evening at 8;00 Sunday through Friday. The Rev. C. R. (Rudy) Davenport, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Alexandria, will assist the pastor, Rev. F. Edison Cleland, and will preach in each of the service^, Mr. Davenport was born in North Carolina and moved to Alexandria, Virginia in 1944. After graduating from high school in Alexandria, he became a graduate of North Caro lina State College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He has pastored churches in Alexandria, Richmond, and Vi enna, Virginia. Two of the churches he has pastored were organized under his ministry. During the week of revival services Mr. Davenport and Mr. Cleland will also conduct the Morning Devotions on radio station WCVA. The public is cordially invited to participate in these services.

Society To Meet
The Ruth Stevens Missionary Society of the Flint Hill Baptist Church will meet Friday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Judd Burke. The WSCS of the Flint Hill Methodist Church will meet tonight, Thursday, with Mrs E. M. Eastham and Mrs. Lock Burford.
