Letter To Editor

Editor, Rappahannock News Washington, Va.

Kudos to Mrs. Kilby for the views she expressed in NEWS sometime ago. We heartily con cur in the opinion that the paper serves a most useful function as a bulletin and small forum for county residents. We are further endebted to our able editor and her fine staff for filling us in as to who visit ed whom, when, where and how come. The public should not be denied such literary gems. However, like Mrs. Kilby, we believe there must be in our midst writers who a re capable of producing copy a bit more literate, interesting, and sti mulating than the dreary drivel and self-adulatory drip pings from the pen of some of your contributors. If, as she suggests, you could discover and put to use samples of local literary talent, it would not only be a further cause for commendation for you but your readers might pick up the paper with an occasional “Ah Hah” instead of the usual “Ho Hum”.
