Mrs. Hmory Russell was honored Saturday evening when approximately thirty friends gave her a surprise house-warming and shower at her new home. Mrs. Maurice Walker was hostess at the affair.
Miss Laura Hosiek of Washington, D. C. is the guest this week of Mrs. Ida Trump. Miss Hosiek teaches Latin atMarer School having retired from teaching in the Ohio schools eighteen years ago. Mrs. Mary Cleverley and Mrs. Ida Trump, accompanied by Miss Hosiek. were in Harrisonburg Monday on business.
Louis Miller spent the weekend at the home of his par ents Mr. and Mrs. Paul-Miller enroute to Madison Heights after spending two weeks train ing at the Great Lakes Training Centre in Michigan.

Visitors Tuesday morning of last week at the J. P. Cook home were Mr. and Mrs. James H. Day of Richmond and their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. James Fla rl Day and daughter of Sierra Madre Calif, and Mrs. Martha Love, also of Richmond. They were enroute to New York Mrs. H. C. Pullen with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Updike of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wise Garner. Jimmy Ma nuel and Mrs. Kva Brady of Winchester and Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Ramey of Slate Mills spent from M o n d a y through Wednesday of last week at Ocean Beach. Md. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Russell and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson and two sons of Front Royal have returned from a two weeks vacation trip to Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pullen of Strasburg were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. 11. C. Pullen.
