Rappahannock County will have a visitor tonight such as they have not had since many residents can remember. Reminiscence of the days when ministers rode from one church to another on horseback, the Reverend Dan Tohline of Lake-Charles, Louisiana will ride horseback into Sperryville about 3 p.m. this afternoon. The Reverend Tohline is one of twelve Methodist ministers participating in! “Saddlebags East", a project of the Bicentennial of American Methodism. These muchpublicized ministers a re traveling by horseback from their respective homes to Baltimore, Maryland where they will take part, as official delegates, in the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the beginning of American Methodism, April 21-24, 1966. The Reverend James Grimmer, pastor of the Rappahannock Methodist Charge, extends an invitation to the people of Rappahannock to bring a dish and join in a covered j dish supper which will be held at the Parish Hall, Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Virginia beginning at 6 p.m. or as soon thereafter as Rev. Tohline can get there. This fellowship supper will provide an opportunity for the people to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Tohline and share some of the experiences of his trip. The Reverend Tohline left Vidalia, Louisiana on March 8 and is travelingapproximately forty miles a day Monday through Friday and some distance on Saturday, in order to reach Baltimore by April 20, 1966.
