To Build Luray Plant
The Governor's Office and Wallace Business Forms, Inc. today announced jointly that the Chicago-based company will build a new plant at Luray, to produce continuous forms. The building will be erected on an 18-acre plot and will cover 77,000 square feet of space. Production is expected to start next spring. The plant can be expanded in future ‘years to accommodate increased volume. * " Fred C. Walker, Mayor of Luray. said he is pleased to have the firm locate in his community. “It will certainly boost the economy of Luray and Page County," Mr. W'alker said. “It’s the type of industry we welcome." W. F. Wallace, chairman and chief executive officer of Wallace Business Forms, Inc. said, “We are building a major plant facility in Virginia to serve our growing market along the eastern seaboard." The Division of Industrial Development of the Governor's Office said Virginia will conduct an advanced training program for pressmen and other technicians who will be needed by wallace. The proprogra m will be supervised I by the Special Training Program Section of the State Department of Community Colleges and will begin while the plant is being built. Wallace Business Forms now has plants in Chicago; Clinton, Illinois; Gastonia and Durham in North Carolina and in New Brunswick, New Jer- , i sey. Its net sales for the fiscal year ending July 31, 1966 total figures $23,405,300. The company is among the top six producers in its industry.
