B. Franklfh Skinner has been named general commercial manager for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia. He is a native of Covington, Virginia, and was graduated from the University of Richmond in 1952. He came with the C&P immediately following graduation as ,a staff assistant in the commercial department. Skinner has held various posf lions in the company including those of commercial manager in both Richmond and Roanoke, district sales manager, general marketing supervisor for the four C&P compaines with headquarters in Washington and division traffic manager for the Roanoke, Lynchburg and Richmond districts.

In this new position Skinner will be responsible for the state-wide operations of the commercial department of the C and R, While at the University of Richmond he was a member of the National Honarary Lea• dership Fraternity Omicron, Delta Kappa, Phi Delta Epsilon National Honorary Journalism Fraternity and Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity. He has held directorships in the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Richmond, the Junior Achievement of Roanoke Valley, the Roanoke Red Cross Chapter, Roanoke Rotary Club and the United Givers Fund of Roanoke Valley. Skinner succeeds Robert R. Horner, Jr., who was recently named general financial administrator in the treasury department of AT and T in New York.
