A United States Marine officer, Major Charles J. Keever, who recently returned from Viet Nam, will be the main banquet speaker at the 1966 Virginia Red Cross Chap ter Conference, Friday evening, September 30, at Richmond’s John Marshall Hotel. Delegates from this area are expected to be among some 400 registered for the September 29 through October 1 sessions.

He will be introduced by Huntington Harris, of Leesburg, a member of the Board of Governors of The American National Red Cross. The Banquet invocation will be given by Rt. Rev. Walter L. Sullivan, chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Greetings from the City of Richmond will be extended by Mayor Morrill M. Crowe. Theme for the three-day con ference, which is being Hosted by The Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield County Chapters, is "Peace and War... Red Cross in Action." The Friday morning session will feature two panel discussions, “Federal Programs and Red Cross Services." One moderated by Harry H. Moor§ past chairman of Henrico Chap ter, will explore the relationship between the Office of Economic Opportunity and the Red Cross; and the other, with Frederick T. Gray, Past Chesterfield Chairman, moderating, will concern Civil Defense and Red Cross. The opening session will fea^ ture a parade of 105 Red Cross Volunteers in the varied uniforms.
