Children Burned
In Auto Fire
Two Sperryville children were burned severely Saturday when the car in which they were sitting on the Safeway parking lot in Culpeper caught fire. Gregory Allen Bright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bright, sustained second degree burns over 14 percent'of his body and is a patient in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He is five years old. Gary Lee Bright, three, a brother to Gregory, was treated for burns at Culpeper Memorial Hospital and released. The children apparently had been playing with matches as they waited in the car for their mother and grandmother who were in the store shopping, said an officer. An Arlington woman driving north on Main Street discovered the blaze, stopped and rescued the children. Safeway employees with fire extinguishers brought the blaze under control until Culpeper firemen responded. How ever, the vehicle was destroyed. The Arlington woman went on her way before she could be identified.
