Apple-Orange Nut Bread

1 cup sugar

teaspoon salt

:;t cup chopped nuts

1 egg

.'i tablespoons melted butter

or margarine

Squeeze juice from orange. Using medium blade, put rind through

food chopper with raisins. Add orange juice, rind and raisins to apple sauce. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda sugar and salt; add apple sauce mixture and nuts Mix thnr* oughly. Beat egg; add with melted butter or margarine stirrin," until thoroughly blended. Pour into greased loaf |kUi "x 2‘z"■ Bake in moderate oven, 250 degrees, 70 to 80 minutes Remove from pan; cool on wire rack. The bread will slice better if allowed to stand 12 hours.
