A Rescue and Ambulance training class on Emergency Childbirth was held May 5, 1967 at the Flint Hill Fire Hall. Guest lecturers were Dr. Dennis P. McCarty, M. D., of Front Royal, and Mr6. Harriet Adams, Registered Nurse of Fairfax. Mrs. Adams is serving as Educational Committee Chairman and is on the Board of the Northern Virginia Ambulance and Rescue Association. Chief A.M.M. G. A. Gowens, Navy Recruiter from Warrenton, Virginia, was instrumental in making this calss possible by procuring the film and serving as projectionist for the class. The training session was attended by 33 Rappahannock squadsmen and was well received by all. Many questions were asked and new thinking \re6ulted from the answers. As a result, the various Res cue Squads are planning to invest In some additional equipment necessary to handle this type of emergency. The R a p p a h a n nock Coun ty Volunteer Firemen’s Association expressed thanks to both Dr. McCarty and Mrs. Adams for taking time from their busy schedules to present such an interesting training class for the squadsmen.
