Races Set May 27
The 1967 Virginia Champion ship Canoe Races are to be held at Front Royal May 27 according to Joe F. Swiger, Chairman of the event. Saturday’s program sponsored by the Front Royal laycees will consist of two competitive events: a ‘White Water champ ionship" and a “Down-river Endurance Canoe Race.’ The White Water event will begin at 9 a.m., and will involve some 10 miles of the South Fork of the Shenandoah rated as class 11 — 11 [ in difficulty.
