Birthday Surprise
The ladies of the Thornton's Gap Regular Baptist Church honored Miss Mamie Johnson of Sperryville with a surprise birthday party on May 11. It was Miss Johnson’s 84th birth day. The ladies brought her gifts along with a five pound cake. Present were Mrs. Betsy Harrell, her sister; Mrs Clarence Compton, of Culpeper; Mrs. Roy Alther, Mrs. Floyd Clatterbuck, Mrs. Aubrey Jenkins, Mrs. Ruby Dwyer and Gary, all of Sperryville; Mrs. John Burke, Mrs. James Adkins and Aletha and Lavonne, of Washington.
